Choose one dependable host. Their game keeps the shared progress automatically. When the session ends, guests disconnect; next time the same host loads the existing journey first and everyone joins with the new session code or friends list.
Before you start
- Choose a host who can attend future sessions.
- Make sure the correct platform account owns the continuing journey.
- Before a risky PC test, close the game and preserve a dated copy of accessible save data.
Step-by-step

End cleanly
Finish the current interaction, stage important objects and let the host leave through the game menu instead of forcing the process closed.

Load the existing journey
On the next session, the original host selects the saved world rather than creating another slot.

Choose the current world version
The host selects 2, 3 or 4+ for the minimum expected attendance; this does not transfer ownership of the save.

Wait for the host to load
The original host loads the same saved journey first. Once their character is in the world, open the in-game menu > Session Details for the current Join Code and let guests rejoin. If the original host is absent, guests cannot resume that hosted journey on their own.

Verify progress before moving items
Check a known unlock such as the bridge, Map Room or trains, then continue the route.

- If the world appears missing, confirm the correct player, account and save slot before assuming data loss.
- Update the host to 1.5.1 before retrying the same world. House House fixed one challenge that could reset and become impossible in saves created before 1.4.9. This is a specific fix, not a recovery guarantee for every missing save.
- Guests cannot continue that hosted journey unless the original host hosts again.
