The train does not start from a platform button. It is the reward for completing the Blue Tower prize-and-key chain.
Direct answer
Bring five red puzzle prizes to the Blue Tower rooftop, collect the blank key, run it through all five arrow-linked cutters down the mountain and insert the finished key into the station lock. The island trains then begin their loops.
Place one prize in each of the five rooftop positions. When every position is filled, collect the blank key.
Start near the Blue Tower entrance. Insert the key and look at the direction revealed by the machine.
Continue through the cutters along the mountain route. Do not skip a machine because the key can look complete before it is usable.
The final cutter points toward the train station. Keep following the route rather than returning to the tower.
Insert the completed key at the station. Once the trains move, board at a platform or safely from beside the track.
